WhatsApp will no longer work on a number of smartphones. For some older mobiles, WhatsApp will not extend its support form 1st February 2020. These details were updated in the FAQ section of WhatsApp.
From next year, Android 2.3.7 OS, iPhones with iOS 8 will not have WhatsApp’s support. This is shocking news. They will not any of the new updates. Last year, we saw so many updates from WhatsApp and they were extremely helpful for addicts who check their mobiles every 5 minutes.
With these older versions, you can’t create new accounts. This is really bad news for who are still using the older version of Android and iOS. Also, you can’t re-verify existing accounts as well.
WhatsApp will no longer work on Windows Mobiles
Microsoft withdraws support for Windows mobiles from December 31, 2019. The same day, WhatsApp also withdraws their support. If you are using Windows mobile, there is a way to save your chats.
- Open the chat that you want to save
- Tap the Group info
- Tap the option ‘Export Chat’
- Now you can download the chat with or without media
- Also, you can export all your chats
Furthermore, WhatsApp will be running on some phones with KaiOS 2.5.1+ OS which includes JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
WhatsApp stated that this support withdrawal decision will not affect a huge number of users. The number is meagre and that’s why they have taken this harsh decision.
