The Simplification of Elon Musk’s company – SpaceX

Tech Billionaire, Elon Musk is in the news for quite a time now. The Silicon Valley billionaire made millions by investing in numerous startups. The recent launch of Falcon 9 has proved to be massive for its company, SpaceX. For some people, the real motive of the company is still not clear. SpaceX started when Elon Musk went out for purchasing a rocket and found it too expensive. Other than launching rockets into Mars, SpaceX is looking to revolutionize international flights within the Earth. It is trying to come up with Orbit Rocket Launches which will reduce the time of travel to a large extent.

History Of SpaceX

It dates back to 2002 when Musk visited Russia with few of his friends to buy an intercontinental ballistic missile. He wanted to get the World’s interest back in the space by launching a rocket to Mars. He was in thoughts of sending plants and mice to Mars and bring them back too. He wanted to catch NASA’s attention by spending all of his fortunes in the mission. But, unfortunately, the meeting did not go quite well. Musk wanted to make the world excited about space again but his plans seem to crash. Later, he decided that he can build the rockets by himself and cut the launch contractors price in the process. Soon, he came up with his company – “SpaceX”.

Falcon 9 Rocket

Initially, Elon Musk planned to enter Mars by 2010. But, the first rocket launch, Falcon 1 took six years which was launched on September 28, 2008. The company then came up with Falcon 9, a two-stage rocket which is used to launch the companies and government satellite into space. It is also used for supplies to Internation Space Station and help the US government in carrying out secret plane missions. SpaceX has launched approximately 50 Falcon 9 in the last few years.

What actually sets the rocket apart from its competitor is that the first stage lands back on the Earth using a pad on the sea. The mission failed quite a few times but it achieved success on December 22, 2015. After that, several rockets have been launched and recovered. Recently on May 11, 2018, a block 5 Falcon 9 was launched which is the last evolution stage in the series.

Dragon Craft

SpaceX then came up with a Dragon Craft which is used to supply supplements to the Internation Space Station. It made a round trip and returned back successfully making it the first spacecraft to do so. Another version of the spacecraft is set to be launched which will make the humans reach out to ISS and space by 2019.

Falcon Heavy Craft

Recently, Falcon Heavy was launched by SpaceX. After Saturn V which sent humans to the moons, this is the most powerful rocket ever launched in the US. Three Falcon 9 were joined together to form the Falcon Heavy Craft. Two of the Falcon landed successfully near Cape Canaveral. It carried Musk’s personal Tesla Roadster and released it into space.

After 15 years, Elon Musk finally achieved his space dream and even made a business out of it. But there’s no stopping for him as he plans much more than just reaching space. SpaceX is already working on BFR (Big Fucking Rocket) to reach Mars. He aims to transport cargo and humans to Mars and bring them back too. Musk has been offering his plans to Mars in the last two International Aeronautical Meetings. He said that SpaceX primary missions will be providing transportation and the rest will be handled by others.

Starlink

Another major update from SpaceX is their project Starlink which will form a constellation of satellites in the space. It is planning to launch 12,000 satellites in the Earth’s lower orbit for providing high-speed internet access.

Elon Musk’s Feature Ideas:

Furthermore, SpaceX is planning to take tourists to Moon. The company is also expanding within the Earth with its Hyperloop project. Unlike his other company, Musk has not made SpaceX public and will make it only after the company realizes its Mars ambitions.
