Satya Nadella Mentions Cloud Solutions To Cross $1 Trillion By 2025

Inspire 2022, Microsoft’s annual partner conference took place in Redmond, Washington, this week. The opening speech by Microsoft’s chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, to inform the vendor’s partners on what to look for from the software company, marked the beginning of the channel’s premier event.

He began by addressing the subject of digital transformation, saying Microsoft must do more than “talking extensively” about it; it must also fulfill the “digital imperative” for businesses.

“The case for doing this has never been more urgent or clear. It’s existential, the next ten years are not going to be like the last ten. Digital technology is a deflationary force in an inflationary economy. It’s the only way to navigate the headwinds we are confronting today,” he added.

“Every customer I speak with is clear-eyed about aligning their IT investments to scale with demand. Moving to the cloud allows them to just do that – converting their spending from CapEx to OpEx”, Nadella informed the partner network.

Global Expansion Of Infrastructure And Datacenters

The Microsoft boss added it is significantly investing in migration and modernization programs to help customers move forward “with confidence.” “To share two examples. It’s up to 80% less expensive to run Windows Server VMs on Azure and SQL Server VMs on Azure than it is with our main competitor. We are building the next generation multi-cloud, multi-edge infrastructure to support this.” 

By 2025, the market for cloud solutions is expected to reach $1 trillion. As per Nadella, Microsoft will open 10 additional data centers to help with data entry requirements and to provide services more quickly in 10 different countries.

To assist Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) in developing quickly, creating well-architected programs, publishing them to their commercial marketplace, and increasing their revenues, Microsoft has introduced the ISV Success Programme. The initiative, which is currently in private trial and will go generally be available in autumn 2022, is meant to be the route to ISV success in the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program, according to the business.

Participants can take advantage of over $128,000 in benefits to use modern, productive, and innovative developer tools to speed up software innovation. Additionally, the business introduced Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty, a product created especially for the governmental sector.

Customers in the public sector may now create and change workloads in the Microsoft Cloud in keeping with their legal, security, and policy needs. It is clear that organizations are moving more quickly to the cloud.
