CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk has claimed that Neuralink is making a chip that can stream music directly to your brain. Yes, this Neuralink chip could literally mess with your head.
Yes, that’s absolutely right. Elon Musk, the dynamic CEO often comes up with dynamic plans and news. This time it’s about this chip.
Musk said that the chip will soon be able to let its users stream music directly into their brains. But that’s not all. This chip has a lot of potentials- and so does Neuralink.

Neuralink chip
In a tweet, a twitter used asked Musk if the chip could be used to listen to music. He had asked this question in reference to a tweet in which Musk had invited engineers to work at Neuralink.
The Twitter user Austin Howard asked Musk, “If we implement Neuralink – can we listen to music directly from our chips? Great feature.”
To this, Musk replied with a straightforward and simple “yes”.
And this “yes” of his opened up a series of possibilities that would be very interesting to explore and discuss. And no doubt, that did happen.
Musk also said that this chip could help those who are suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety and other mental issues.
Brain-Computer Interface (BCI)
Okay, let’s admit it, Musk is a visionary and he definitely thinks about everything. By which we do mean everything.
He started Neuralink with the intention of producing a BCI- Brain-Computer Interface and this is what that chip is about.
A BCI is something that will help humans keep their competitive edge in case Artificial Intelligence (AI) gets too powerful.
This has always been a huge topic of discussion for everyone- what will happen when AI takes over the world? People have spoken in favour of and against it. And bingo! Here comes the answer.
A BCI will make things faster and more efficient. Once surgically inserted into your brain, you will only have to think of playing certain music and your phone will play it.

With this technology, Musk makes some very promising claims that are equal part hopeful and equal part scary.
From treating mental illnesses, cognitive disorders, brain or spine injuries to stimulating the brain’s pleasure centre, promises are too big. Musk tweeted, “This would solve a lot of brain/spine injuries & is ultimately essential for AI symbiosis.”
When another Twitter user asked if Neuralink would be a saviour for people suffering from brain injury/autism, Musk said: “it has that potential”.
This all isn’t as easy as it seems though. Something that can meddle with hormone receptors in our brains can be a boon or bane.
Either way, it has a huge potential of turning invasive too. We are already worried about data breaches in the world of the Internet. Just think what would happen when the data breach would involve your thoughts.
