How You Can Enable/Disable Ads Blocker In Chrome Browser

Most of the time when you visit a website, there will be some kind of advertisements which will break the flow of following the article. It becomes quite irritating when the ad keeps on popping every now and then and you decide to close the website. One method of blocking the ads is to install third-party apps like AdBlock which blocks the irritating pop-up ads.

Google Chrome’s Inbuilt AdBlocker

Google has come up with its own Ad-Blocker in-built in the chrome browser. The browser automatically blocks the advertisements which are not according to the Ads Standards. Adblock, the industry leader now face a tough competition with the new inbuilt ads blocker in Google Chrome. Moreover, the adblocker is turned on by default which blocks the advertisements without any user intervention.

But, there are limitations too with the inbuilt adblocker. The problem with the ad blocking tools is that they interfere with the natural loading of the websites. It may cause the websites to show errors and possibly hinder the user experience. But, worry not! The inbuilt adblocker in the Chrome Browser can be disabled too!

Reason Behind The Addition Of Inbuilt Adblocker

Rahul Roy, the VP of Chrome said that “A big source which spoils the browsing experience is the irritating ads which pop-ups and you can never find the close icon to it. These ads are intended to stand between the user browsing the article as these ads help the owner to generate revenue. So, we decided to implement our own adblocker in the browser which is used by 56% of the world”. The adblocker will block the advertisements on a particular website when it shows any one of the most disruptive ads. The disruptive ads are decided by the Coalition for Better Ads (CBA) society. It is formed by the leading online media companies like Google, Facebook, Unilever, Microsoft and so on.

How To Enable/Disable Chrome Ad Blocker?

The Google Chrome’s inbuilt ad blocker can be disabled if it hinders the user experience often. But the disadvantage is that it cannot be entirely disabled. The enable or disable feature works on the site basis. To disable the ads on your browser, follow the given steps:

  1. Open the website in which you want to disable the ad blocker in Google Chrome.
  2. In the address bar, click on the green lock or the info button.
  3. Select site settings from the menu displayed.
  4. In the new menu, scroll down to find the Ads section.
  5. Click on the drop-down menu displayed next to the Ads.
  6. Select the allow option from the drop-down menu which will disable the ad blocker.
  7. Close the settings menu and you are done!

To enable the ad blocker again, follow the above 5 steps. In the 6th step, select the Block option from the drop-down menu which will enable it again.

The above steps can be followed to disable the ad blocker but it is not advisable. Many websites generate their revenue through the ads but some sites exceed the limit of displaying them which can be taken care of using the inbuilt Ad Blocker.
