Tesla Inc chief executive Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis, a top executive at his recent startup Neuralink, had twins in the November of 2021. In April, Musk and Zilis filed a petition to change the name of the twins to have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name. The order was approved by a judge in Austin, Texas, this May, which was a month later. A court document summary showed a judge signed an “Order Changing the Names Of Multiple Children” on May 11 after the name change petition from Musk and Zilis was made on April 25 this year.

Zilis, aged 36, is identified as the director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, which is co-founded and chaired by Musk. She started working at the company in May 2017 which was the same month she was named a project director in artificial intelligence at Tesla, where she worked until 2019. Zilli has recently been named as one of the people Musk could select to run Twitter Inc after his $44 billion deal acquisition. She also serves as a board member at artificial intelligence research firm OpenAI, which was co-founded by Musk.
Musk, aged 51, is the wealthiest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of about $220 billion. He’s at the head of four companies named, the electric-vehicle maker Tesla, the spacecraft manufacturer SpaceX, the tunnel-construction startup The
Boring Company, and the brain-machine-interface implant company Neuralink. This year he announced plans to purchase Twitter for $44 billion.
In May, SpaceX had paid a company flight attendant $250,000 to stay quiet after she alleged that Musk exposed himself and propositioned her for sex. He has always been seen tweeting about declining birth rates. “The world’s population is accelerating towards collapse, but few seem to notice or care,” he said. Musk’s concern about declining birth rates appears to start from the idea that there won’t be enough humans to populate Mars.

The news of the twins’ arrival brings Musk’s total count of children to nine. Musk shares two children with Canadian singer Grimes, and the other five kids with his ex-wife Canadian author Justine Wilson. Musk and Grimes welcomed their second child via surrogate in December and named it X Æ A-Xii Musk, in 2020. The billionaire said that he and Grimes were “semi-separated,” in September last year.
Musk and Zilis did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comments but recently Elon Musk has made a revealing statement that he is trying his best to head off an underpopulation crisis.

He tweeted on Thursday, “A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far,”. This comment made by Musk came out immediately after the Insider reported the twin case in the public.
