Social networking app O hi has successfully raised Rs 8 crore (approximately $1 million) in its pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by existing investors JIIF, with participation from several marquee angel investors.
The newly acquired funds will be utilized to enhance O hi’s product offerings and integrate an AI-based profiling system. This enhancement aims to provide a more personalized user experience and foster stronger community connections.
Founded by Adeeti and Rupal, O hi leverages real-life human interactions within physical environments by creating digital rooms in locations such as cafes, airports, and hotels. This innovative approach allows users to form networks of fame, stardom, and monetary opportunities in the real world.
In a significant development, the Welsh Government has invited O hi to establish its platform in the UK. The startup plans a soft launch in July 2024, with the government providing support and resources to help O hi penetrate the UK market.
O hi is focusing on creating digital chatrooms in spaces like cafes, airport lounges, and hotels to build real-world communities. The startup claims to have doubled its user base, which was previously acquired over 24 months, in just the last 45 days, positioning itself for the next milestone.
After a 24-month product development phase, O hi has transitioned from beta testing and now boasts a user base of over 800,000. This rapid growth underscores the platform’s potential and the effectiveness of its innovative approach to social networking.
This latest funding round and expansion plans signal a promising future for O hi as it continues to revolutionize the way people interact and network in the digital and real worlds.
