Aerial intelligence company Aereo has bagged $1.8 million as part of its Series B funding round led by JSW Ventures.
In the same round, the Bengaluru-based firm also raised $15 million, with JSW Ventures at the front, along with its existing backers StartupXseed Ventures and Navam Capital, in July.
These new funds will be used to solidify its presence in offering innovative drone solutions for businesses and to expand into global markets, according to a statement from Aereo.
Established in 2013 by Vipul Singh and Suhas Banshiwala, Aereo uses advanced drone technology and AI-powered data analytics to improve the management of assets in various industries, including mining, infrastructure, urban and rural development, and land records. The company offers a wide range of services, including inventory checks, quality evaluations, and the digitization of land records.
The company has worked on significant government projects, mapping more than 45,000 villages under the SVAMITVA scheme and covering over 50,000 square kilometers for the Digital India Land Record Modernization Program (DILRMP). It has also reported achieving profitability at the EBITDA level.
Aereo places a strong emphasis on intellectual property, with 15 patents pending for innovations in drone technology, design, and flight planning. It competes with other companies in the drone industry, including Skylark Drones, IdeaForge, Garuda Aerospace, DroneAcharya Aerial, Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, and others.
