Vidyakul Promotes Akhil Hari Angira to Co-Founder and CBO

State boards-focused edtech startup Vidyakul has appointed Akhil Hari Angira as the company’s Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer (CBO). Angira, who previously served as the Head of Academics, began his journey with Vidyakul in 2018 as an intern, even before the company officially launched its product. With a background in electronics engineering and law, Angira brings nearly a decade of experience in IT management to his new role.

In his new capacity, Angira will lead business growth, drive revenue generation, ensure profitability, and forge strategic partnerships. Additionally, he will focus on expanding Vidyakul’s reach in underserved areas, the company stated.

“Our greatest strength is our team, which has believed in the company’s vision of equal educational opportunity for all from day one. Akhil [Angira] has been a constant pillar of support for the business—both at the back-end and on the ground. I am delighted to welcome him as our Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer and foresee us reaching greater heights with his able leadership,” said Tarun Saini, Founder and CEO of Vidyakul.

Vidyakul provides e-learning solutions for state board students of classes 9-12 in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Gujarat, offering services at a fee as low as Rs 300 per month. The company aims to enhance the academic performance of students from low-income backgrounds by providing access to quality learning resources.

“Coming from a small town and starting as an intern, I am truly excited for this new innings at Vidyakul. My commitment remains the same: Education for Bharat’s students,” Angira expressed.

Founded in 2017 by Tarun Saini and Raman Garg, Vidyakul is headquartered in Gurugram and has garnered investments from We Founder Circle (WFC), JITO Angel Network, SOSV, and Thinkuvate, among others. The company has raised a total funding of Rs 21 crore.

Vidyakul recently launched the ‘Sankalp Yatra 2024’ initiative to establish free Digital Study Rooms in 500 villages. The company aims to reach more than five million students on its app by early 2025, reflecting its ongoing commitment to broadening educational access across India.
