Battery Smart, a leading battery swapping network for electric two and three-wheelers, has announced a partnership with Zepto to deploy 10,000 new electric vehicles by the end of this financial year.
This collaboration will enable Zepto’s EV delivery partners to access Battery Smart’s extensive network of over 1,000 battery swapping stations, facilitating two-minute battery swaps across more than 30 cities.
Currently, electric vehicles constitute a significant 20% share in India’s last-mile delivery market, a trend that supports the government’s goal of achieving 30% electrification of the country’s vehicle fleet by 2030. This partnership aims to further boost this momentum.
Yogiraj Gogia, Senior Director of Partnerships and Fleet Business at Battery Smart stated, “Zepto’s growth over the past year has been remarkable. With access to our expanding network of swap stations, we look forward to seeing Zepto scale even further by deploying more EVs to its fleet.”
The collaboration will allow partners to reduce capital expenditure by purchasing EVs without batteries and utilizing Battery Smart’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This approach significantly enhances the affordability and accessibility of electric mobility.

With a nationwide presence, Battery Smart has strategically established stations in Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities across Haryana, NCR (National Capital Region), Karnataka, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and most recently, Maharashtra. By leveraging Battery Smart’s battery-swapping solution, Zepto’s delivery partners will experience zero charging downtimes, ensuring timely deliveries and preventing revenue loss.
This partnership marks a significant step towards the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in India’s delivery sector, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient logistics ecosystem.
