Ecommerce Snapdeal and Titan Capital’s cofounder, Kunal Bahl, has been announced as a shark on the popular TV show Shark Tank India for its upcoming season.
In a LinkedIn update, Titan Capital shared the news that their cofounder, Kunal Bahl, has been selected to join Shark Tank as one of the sharks.
“From co-founding Snapdeal | AceVector Group to backing some of India’s most promising startups with Titan Capital, Kunal’s entrepreneurial journey has been extraordinary. Now, he’s ready to bring his passion for building and scaling businesses to the Shark Tank India stage!”
This announcement comes just a few days after it was reported that Zomato co-founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal would not be participating in the next season of the show due to a dispute with competitor Swiggy over sponsorship rights.
IPO-bound Swiggy is reportedly negotiating a deal to sponsor the next season of the show for Rs 25 crore.
In a teaser released by Sony Entertainment Television for the fourth season of Shark Tank India, other notable sharks such as Anupam Mittal of People Group, Namita Thapar of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Ritesh Agarwal of OYO, and Aman Gupta of boAt were also featured, in addition to Bahl.
Kunal Bahl co-founded Snapdeal in 2010 and is also the promoter of the recently listed SaaS startup Unicommerce.
He established venture capital firm Titan Capital in 2015 with Rohit Bansal, focusing on providing funding to startups in the consumer internet, D2C, fintech, SaaS, and Web3 industries.
In August, Titan Capital secured a target fund of Rs 200 crore to invest in follow-on rounds for startups from its seed portfolio. Earlier, the VC firm exited from Urban Company in July.
The firm has invested in over 200 startups, including Urban Company, OfBusiness, Razorpay, Ola Cabs, Mamaearth, among others, in its portfolio.
