Tata’s mortal remains are currently at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) for the public to pay their respects before the last rites, which will be performed with full state honors later today in Worli. Among the mourners is Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is expected to attend the funeral.
N Chandrasekaran, the current Chairman of Tata Sons, confirmed the news, expressing deep sorrow. “He was a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the fabric of our nation,” Chandrasekaran said, calling Tata his “mentor, guide, and friend.”
