Amazon India has announced a strategic partnership with Startup India, under the guidance of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), to empower Indian startups by leveraging ecommerce. Through a dedicated page on the Startup India portal, this initiative will allow eligible startups to register on Amazon India’s marketplace and tap into the domestic ecommerce ecosystem.
The partnership will provide startups with mentorship from Amazon leaders, go-to-market support, and logistics guidance to help scale their businesses effectively. According to Sanjiv, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, this collaboration combines Amazon’s ecommerce expertise with Startup India’s role in fostering the startup ecosystem to provide a robust platform for startups to grow.
Additionally, Amazon will extend its Saheli program to support women entrepreneurs. Women-led startups will have access to a suite of Amazon services, including Amazon Pay, Amazon Business, AWS, Amazon Advertising, and more.
The partnership also aims to promote the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR), a platform that fosters collaboration among startups, investors, mentors, and government bodies.
