Mashreq, the oldest publicly listed bank in the United Arab Emirates, has appointed Tushar Vikram as its new country head and CEO for India, effective June 2024, according to a statement issued today.
In his new role, Vikram will be responsible for leading Mashreq’s operations in India, steering the strategic direction, and driving growth in the country. This appointment marks a significant step for Mashreq as it aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian market.
Vikram brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He previously served as the group head of investment banking for HDFC Bank, where he oversaw project finance, equity, debt capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Before HDFC, Vikram spent 27 years with Citibank, holding various roles in commercial banking, investment and structured finance, digitization, credit processes, and risk management.
