Gemba Capital, a Sebi-registered micro VC firm, has officially launched its second fund, Fund-II, with a total corpus of Rs 250 crore (approximately $30 million). This fund includes a green shoe option of Rs 50 crore ($6 million), providing additional capital flexibility.
Fund-II is designed to invest in around 30 early-stage, ‘Platform-first’ businesses operating in fintech, consumer tech, and B2B platforms. The fund will make initial investments of up to Rs 5 crore per company and maintain a 30% reserve ratio for follow-on investments.
Founded in 2018, Gemba Capital specializes in seed and pre-seed investments in scalable tech startups. Since its inception, the firm has supported over 120 founders across 50 startups, focusing on fintech, consumer tech, and B2B sectors.
Notable portfolio companies backed by Gemba Capital include Plum (Insurtech), Grip Invest, Wint Wealth, Strata, Navadhan, Zuper, Showroom, Smartstaff, ClickPost, and LightFury.
