India Has Never Seen This Before… Rashmika Mandanna Completes 20-Hour Underwater Action Sequence

Actor Rashmika Mandanna has finished filming an extensive underwater action sequence for her upcoming feature film, Mysaa. Production representatives have detailed the scene as a major technical milestone, noting it represents a notable milestone as a female-led underwater combat sequence executed entirely without the use of a stunt double.

The production company, Unformula Films, shared behind-the-scenes promotional material online to highlight the physical demands of the shoot. According to official production details, Mandanna remained submerged for roughly 20 hours over a consecutive two-day schedule to complete the complex choreography. Commenting on the performance via social media, the makers noted, “India’s First Female Underwater Fight Sequence, led by @rashmika_mandanna. The Surface Was Never the Limit. Beneath the depths lies a battle unlike anything Indian cinema has seen. Get ready to witness the fury.”

Mandanna addressed the production update online, acknowledging the physical toll of the shoot. Reflecting on the demanding nature of the scenes, she stated, “I know I’ve been MIA but this is what we’ve been doing.. This is by far the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in life! We are crazy for this but that’s what’s gotten me so so excited! Let’s goooo! #Mysaa.” Directed by Rawindra Pulle, the tribal-land action thriller is slate for a theatrical release later this year.
