Elon Musk, The CEO of Tesla, has decided to reschedule his visit to India. Elon Musk was supposed to meet with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and reveal his intentions to join the Indian market during his two-day trip to India on April 21 and 22, 2024.
Elon Musk wrote on X, “Unfortunately, very heavy Tesla obligations required that the visit to India be delayed. The Tesla also added that he “very much looks forward to visiting later this year.”
According to a report, Elon Musk’s planned trip to India may have conflicted with his scheduled call with analysts and investors about Tesla’s profit on April 23, 2024.
The CEO of Tesla still needs to disclose the updated dates of his visit to India. He was supposed to announce his $2- $3 Billion in India mostly for constructing his new plant during his trip (now postponed), and he was expected to meet with Indian entrepreneurs and space companies while in India.
Musk tweeted on April 10, 2024, that he was excited to meet the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. The Indian Government announced a new policy on electric vehicle manufacturing after Elon Musk made his announcement to visit. This policy permits the government to offer duty exemptions to electric car businesses that agree to produce their vehicle in India.
To attract EV Manufacturers to India, Elon Musk stated last year that Tesla is expected to make a sizeable investment in India. The state governments of Maharastra and Gujrat have made land proposals to Tesla for the establishment of the facility, according to the news agency ANI.
The proposed manufacturing by Tesla, which is expected to require investment between $2 and $3 billion, is intended to meet the demand for the company’s electric automobiles locally and globally.
