‘Beti, Beti Hoti Hai’: Yogi Orders FIR Over Remarks On Akhilesh’s Daughter

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that he has directed the state police to register a First Information Report (FIR) regarding objectionable comments targeted at Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav’s daughter. Speaking at a public gathering in Azamgarh during the inauguration of development projects, Adityanath emphasized that derogatory language against women will not be tolerated under any circumstances, regardless of political differences.

“As soon as the matter came to my notice, I instructed the police to register an FIR. No insulting remark against a daughter should be acceptable. Beti, beti hoti hain,” Adityanath stated. He reiterated traditional societal values, noting, “We have grown up with values that say the daughter of a village is everyone’s daughter and the sister of a village is everyone’s sister. We have never made any distinction in this regard.”

The Chief Minister also directed sharp criticism toward the SP leadership, urging them to control the conduct of their own party workers. Addressing the opposition leader, he added, “Akhilesh ji, while you advise others, you should also advise your followers to exercise restraint in their language.” Adityanath stressed that political organizations must internalize decorum before lecturing others on public behavior.
