US-Based Instawork Acquires Bengaluru-Based Able Jobs

Flexible staffing solution provider Instawork has acquired Able Jobs, a Bengaluru-based hiring platform. With the move, the latter aims to expand its global job market with new tools and offerings. The company did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.

According to a company statement, Instawork hopes to use Able Jobs’s product to improve its own capabilities and build from India for the global market.

The Bengaluru-based startup allows applications for skill acquisition & training in the sectors of marketing, sales, and support. Ravish Agrawal and Siddharth Srivastava, who established Abel Job in 2019, will serve as advisor and as product leader respectively at Instawork.

“This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for Able Jobs. We are thrilled to bring our knowledge and experience to Instawork, helping to build a world-class platform that benefits workers and employers globally,” added Agrawal.

The Bengaluru-based hiring platform initially raised $1.8 Mn or Rs 15 crore in seed funding from SAIF Partners, Y combinator, Titan Capital, Firstcheque, and Neeraj Arora for product growth acceleration plus team expansion. It has raised $2.3 million in seed funding so far from Titan Capital, Mynavi, Elevation Capital, and Y Combinator, along with angel investors including Neeraj Arora- former CBO of WhatsApp & Venture Highway Founder, and Farid Ahsan, ShareChat cofounder.

US-based Instawork was founded by Sumir Meghani in 2016 as an oline staffing platform. The company also acquired Drafted, a network recruiting platform through an undisclosed deal in 2021.
