If you don’t know already what’s going on let’s introduce you to the situation. So over the past few months, Huawei is fighting a giant -The United States government. ( The Background ).
The mobile phone company has been in headlines since it announced its plans to bring its mobiles to the US. It won’t be really easy for Huawei to launch its phone in the US as over the past few weeks the CIA and the FBI both have alerted the citizens not to purchase any Huawei mobiles. As they think the Chinese company might access information from them or spy on the owners and it will result in a security risk.
Why a new OS
The fight between Huawei and the US may lead the US to ban the US made products and services like Android and Microsoft to be exported to China. So this resulted in Huawei preparing its own operating system.

“We have prepared our own operating system, if it turns out we can no longer use these systems, we will be ready to implement our plan B” Huawei executive Richard YU shared in a recent interview with Die Welt. Huawei has been trying to develop its own operating system since 2012 when the Chinese ZTE was banned from using American products and services including windows and android.
The company even clarifies that they always prefer android rather than using any other operating system, but if the US government doesn’t allow to do so, they obviously have to opt for something else. However nothing is certain yet, they are prepared for the worst scenario.
The main concern for Huawei right now is that it is not yet ready to get out of the Android ecosystem and if it gets out then it will have many problems which will include various apps and the fact that they will totally lose the access of Google services, which is a nightmare for Huawei. Without Google, they will lose a huge amount of market share.
Recently Huawei sued the US in response to a ban that prevents its tech to be used in “federal network and also preventing it from being used in government works”. Huawei executive Richard YU said The US has singled out Huawei for punishment and that the US will suffer a huge drawback as banning Huawei will put them behind other countries in the race to build 5G.
Huawei even after producing its OS will be at a great disadvantage because they will have to look for new hardware partner as they use Intel Core processor in their windows laptops, and also losing access to Google will put them in some serious problems.
So now the beef between the US and Huawei leaves us with a big question of whether Huawei’s new OS will come in operation or not. Probably we will know this is a short span of time
