Elon Musk announces that Tesla is working on an AI-powered humanoid robot.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk wants to improve the brand image of the organization. The image of the company makes it look more than an electric car manufacturer. Tesla is working on a humanoid robot that leverages its year-old experience on automated cars in its outlets.

It has a combination of hardware and software that drives the AI-enabled software.

Musk expressed his fear of running away from artificial Intelligence. It requires you to invest a considerable amount of time and effort to make it work. It is the reason why Tesla is recruiting fresh talents to get the work done.

Next-generation Tesla humanoid robot makes your job easy

Tesla AI project commenced with a 45-minute that was pulled from the Matrix title track. It had a series of engineers explaining Tesla tech that aims to recruit the best talents countrywide. Join the group and level up the reputation to autonomy and beyond.

It made the announcement on the Tesla AI day, organized in California. Musk stated that the company looks forward to recruiting fresh ML talents.

The company revealed a chipset designed to train the AI-powered models at data centers. Built on a 7mm fabrication process, the Dojo D1 chipset is a part of the supercomputers.

Like other Tesla events, the AI day got broadcasted live from the official Youtube channel of the company. It witnessed a couple of technical breakdowns. Here are the key highlights of Tesla AI day.

A close view of the Tesla robot that covers 5 miles in one hour

Tesla executives and engineers talked about Dojo Supercomputers and sophisticated hardware chips. It created a lot of chaos, and tricksters apprehended an alien dancer standing on the central stage. It had a white dress with a shining black mask on its face.

It turned out to be a bot rather than a Tesla stunt that the company planned for a long time. When the company talked about innovation beyond electric cars, we couldn’t realize it described a humanoid robot.

Elon Musk envisions a world where the least preferred task gets accomplished by AI-powered robots. The Tesla robot weighs around 125 pounds and has a height of 5 feet 8 inches. It covers 5 miles in an hour and has a screen that displays crucial information.

Company named the (Tesla) humanoid bot Optimus. The prototype is coming somewhere around 2022.

Musk claims that physical activities will be a choice in the near future. Whether you want to do it or not, it’s entirely your decision. The CEO disclosed a couple of graphs showcasing supercomputer technologies and AI that Tesla would implement on the robot.

Likewise, it staged a non-functional mannequin version of the robot.

Tesla Chipset to train Dojo Supercomputers

Ganesh Venkataramanan, Director of Tesla, unveiled a chip that was designed by the in-house programmer team. Tesla supercomputer runs on the chipset Dojo. The majority of computer architecture relies on the chipset.

Musk says that the supercomputer processes a massive amount of (Imaging) data up to four times faster than its counterparts. Holding the chipset, the director claimed that it has GPU-level computing power and works with CPU.

He went across the chipset functionality and stated that Tesla incorporated a stack to avoid bottlenecks. Tesla collaborated with Samsung to produce a chipset, but it wasn’t free of shortage. It stormed into the automobile industry, and the company was forced to rewrite software.

It prompted Tesla to come up with a replacement for the chipset. Elan Musk states that the in-house production will increase the bandwidth and reduce latencies for improved performance.

 Verdict

From the AI perspective, Tesla plans to implement a Video neural network in the Tesla bot coupled with dojo Training, PSD machines, and neural network. Furthermore, the CEO claimed that it’s built on a mechanical level that allows you to train and overpower it.

Elon Musk declared that the models would be available somewhat around 2022.
