Earth’s Changing Climate is posing a great threat to humans. United Nations says Earth will be free of Ozone Layer Damage by 2050. That’s great news for us.
In Earth, our life completely depends on UV and IR radiations from the Sun. These radiations are heavily affected by the Ozone layer and the Greenhouse effect. It is not an easy task to control these radiations.
UV Radiations Affect Our Environment
Ultraviolet (UV) radiations have a wavelength of 10- 400 nanometres. This radiation is short but more powerful and energetic compared to visible light. Also, the wavelength of a 4G network is just a few tens of centimetres.
Excessive exposure to Solar UV can cause skin cancer, sunburn and cataracts. But if you take Vitamin D from the Sun properly, you will have a healthier life. Without UV radiation, life on earth becomes miserable. The ozone layer is absorbing most of the UV from the Sun.
Emission of Harmful chemicals like CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) has done severe damage to our atmosphere and the ozone layer. That’s why the Montreal Protocol was introduced in 1987 to protect the Ozone layer.

IR radiation has a different effect on us compared to UV. Depending temperature, things emit light. Sun which is boiling at a temperature of 5,700°C, emits visible light in yellow colour. Objects present at room temperature tend to emit light in IR. That’s why you get clear view in an Infrared Camera.
Earth’s Changing Climate & Greenhouse Effect
Sunlight warms the Earth’s surface after passing through the atmosphere. In return, Earth emits light in the form of IR back to space. This ensures that the Earth is in a balanced state.
The ozone layer and water vapour present in the atmosphere is full of greenhouse gases. They include Carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. These things have powered the climate issue more.
Actually, greenhouse gases are essential for lives on Earth. Without the greenhouse effect, Earth’s average temperature would be -24°C. The current average temperature of Earth is 14°C. The issue is increasing levels of Greenhouse gases are posing great threat to humanity.
Humans are the ones responsible for increasing the greenhouse effect. Burning of fossil fuels has led to the emission of Carbon dioxide. Because of which global temperature has increased and climate change has become dangerous.
Less Warmth in Mars
Mars is not warm and that makes us difficult to live. The greenhouse effect on Mars is very weak and the need for boosting is increasing day by day. The carbon dioxide present in Mars is not sufficient to generate considerable Greenhouse effect. Mars has a thin atmosphere which makes way for more troubles.
It is clearly evident that Earth’s climate and Mars’s climate are not the same. To make it similar, many ideas were considered. A giant magnet to be placed in Mars and fire nuclear weapons into Mars. This will increase the Warmth of the Red Planet.
As Mars has a thin atmosphere, it receives more UV light. To block the UV light and make living possible, aerogel can be applied on the surface. This acts as an artificial ozone layer. Aerogel increases the warmth of Mars and makes the planet suitable for plant growth.
Conclusion
All the countries in the world should come forward and work towards solving this environmental problem. Our Planet is sensitive and it needs to be dealt with more care. Artificial changes are not easy to implement and costs a lot of money. Instead, individuals should understand the situation and act accordingly.
