Urban gardening brand Ugaoo has raised Rs 47 crore in Series A funding led by V3 Ventures, with support from DSG Consumer Partners and RPG Ventures. This funding round is set to enable Ugaoo to significantly scale its operations, with a strategic focus on expanding its regional presence and diversifying its product portfolio.
Founded in 2015 by Sidhanth Bhalinge, Ugaoo has established itself as a leader in India’s fast-growing gardening and home decor sector. Currently, Ugaoo.com offers over 1,500 products, including live plants, vegetable and flower seeds, soils, fertilizers, gardening tools, and sustainable gift options. With the new investment, Ugaoo aims to open 80 retail stores across India’s top 10 cities by FY 2030, in addition to enhancing its digital business through regional fulfillment centers and expanded production capacity.
The company will introduce premium plant care products and exotic plants sourced from global suppliers to appeal to India’s urban gardening enthusiasts. To support this growth, Ugaoo plans to increase its monthly production to 500,000 plants and expand its production facility to 100 acres within the next two years.
The Indian home and garden market, expected to grow at a 30% CAGR, provides a promising backdrop for Ugaoo’s ambitions. With a 2.5x revenue increase from Rs 24 crore in FY23 to Rs 63 crore in FY24, the brand is well-positioned to capitalize on the demand for eco-conscious living.
