The 10-minute food delivery service Swish has raised $2 million (more than 16 crore) in a seed fundraising round headed by venture capital firm Accel, around three months after its formation. With the fresh funding the business intends to increase its footprint throughout Bengaluru and expand its operations with the help of the funding.
Angel investors Abhiraj Bhal and Varun Khaitan, the creators of Urban Company, and Karthik Gurumurthy, the former head of Swiggy Instamart, also participated in the round.
The business said in a statement that it intends to open roughly 150 “centres” throughout Bengaluru’s main districts. It also intends to quickly expand to other Tier-1 cities.
Accel partner Abhinav Chaturvedi stated, “Customer expectations around delivery times have shifted with the rise of quick commerce. Swish is tackling this challenge with a new approach, rethinking the supply chain to bring the same ultra-fast experience to food delivery through their delight centers.”
Aniket Shah, Saran S, and Ujjwal Sukheja-led Swish uses its app to provide a variety of quick food options in as little as ten to fifteen minutes. Since its release, the app has had over 10,000 downloads. Additionally, the company uses its cloud kitchen, called Pod, to supply goods. Approximately 150-200 orders per day, with an average purchase value of ₹250-300, were being received everyday, according to the startup’s founders in August.
