Boson Whitewater, a start-up focused on water recycling, and TruNativ, a nutrition-focused direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand, have each secured Rs 10 crore in equity funding from Rainmatter, an early-stage venture firm backed by Zerodha. The funding, reported by the Economic Times, is part of Rainmatter’s ongoing commitment to investing in innovative start-ups.

Boson Whitewater specializes in converting excess sewage treatment plant (STP) water into potable water, addressing water scarcity issues in cities such as Bengaluru. The company aims to contribute to solving urban water crises through its advanced treatment solutions.

TruNativ, on the other hand, offers a range of nutritional products including Everyday Protein, Everyday Fibre, and Everyday Sweetener. It operates through its website and various e-commerce channels, focusing on direct consumer engagement.

Dinesh Pai, head of Rainmatter, highlighted that the firm has invested approximately Rs 650 crore in diverse start-ups across various sectors since its inception in 2016. Out of the Rs 1,000 crore commitment announced last year by Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath, Rs 150 crore has been deployed so far.

Pai emphasized that Rainmatter aims to provide patient capital to start-ups, focusing on long-term growth rather than quick exits. The firm supports businesses committed to building sustainable and scalable solutions for India and beyond.

Rainmatter has also recently invested over Rs 30 crore in several start-ups within the last two months. The fund, based in Bengaluru, has backed around 100 companies, including 31 in fintech, 28 in climate tech, and 21 in health and nutrition.

Recent investments by Rainmatter include follow-up rounds in health start-up Devil’s Circuit, climate tech firm Green Worms, and fintech company Actologica. Additionally, Rainmatter participated in the $6.5 million funding round for space tech start-up GalaxEye.
