PV Sindhu Invests in Wellness Brand Hoop, Joins as Brand Ambassador

Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has invested an undisclosed amount in wellness brand Hoop, marking her equity stake alongside her role as the brand ambassador. Founded in 2022 by Twinkle Uppal and Saharsh Agarwal, Hoop specializes in natural products for topical pain relief, muscle recovery, and sleep support.

Hoop previously raised $100,000 in a grant round in January 2023 and is supported by Peak XV’s Spark Program, with backing from prominent angel investors including Rohit Kapoor, Abhinav Sinha, Naiyya Saggi, Suhail Sameer, and Shantanu Deshpande.

The Gurugram-based company offers its relief and recovery products both through its website and various marketplaces. While specific financial details such as monthly transactions and revenue were not disclosed, Hoop claims a customer base spread across more than 1,000 cities in India.

PV Sindhu’s investment in Hoop adds to her diverse portfolio, which includes investments in over 12 brands spanning sectors such as biofortified staples and automotive manufacturing. This move underscores her growing presence in the entrepreneurial ecosystem beyond her celebrated career in badminton.

Consumer wellness products represent a burgeoning market in India, currently valued at approximately $20 billion and experiencing robust annual growth of over 15%, according to industry reports.

Sindhu’s partnership with Hoop is poised to strengthen the brand’s market position and expand its reach in the competitive wellness industry, leveraging her influence to promote natural health solutions.
