Personalized microbiome-driven healthcare startup Iom Bioworks, based in Bengaluru, has raised Rs 4 crore in its seed round, which was headed by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The money raised will go toward expanding the scientific and commercial teams, securing intellectual property, bolstering marketing, and scaling up essential infrastructure.

Iom Bioworks, which was founded in 2022 by Dr. Samik Ghosh, Dr. Hiroaki Kitano, and Bipin Pradeep Kumar, is promoting customized healthcare by finding and therapeutically modifying important gut microbes to improve human health and well-being. The company’s patented platform provides dietary and prebiotic recommendations based on each microbiome by fusing artificial intelligence with extensive biological network mapping.

Iom Bioworks reports that in its first year of operation, it has serviced more than 500 clients, obtained two patents (two more are in the advanced stages), and published its research in prestigious scientific publications. It provides a full digital experience, including at-home gut profiling tools and customized wellness strategies, and it uses pan-India logistics.
