DiFACTO Robotics and Automation Private Limited, a prominent provider of robotic automation solutions, has secured ₹40 crore in Series A funding from Stakeboat Capital.
This investment represents a significant milestone for the company, aimed at accelerating its growth and reinforcing its market position.
Ajay Gopalswamy, Founder and CEO of DiFACTO, expressed his enthusiasm about the new funding, stating, “This capital will be used to fuel our growth, strengthen our market position, and stand true to our commitment towards innovation.”
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Bengaluru, DiFACTO has established itself as a pioneer in industrial robotics-based solutions. Recognized among the top five robot companies in the industry, according to a company statement, DiFACTO operates across four key segments: welding systems, material handling systems, foundry and machine tending systems, and fluid dispensing systems.
Srinivas Baratam, Managing Director of Stakeboat Capital, highlighted the favorable conditions for the growth of robotic automation in India. He noted, “Initiatives such as Make in India and increased focus on manufactured exports will lead to a shortage of skilled manpower available to the sector. This, along with the need to improve efficiency and quality, will significantly propel the adoption of robotic automation.” Baratam added, “While data published by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) puts India in 10th place globally regarding annual industrial robot installations, this position will rapidly change as the manufacturing sector continues to grow.”
The post-Covid-19 pandemic period has seen the Indian automotive market on a steady growth path. February 2024 recorded domestic sales of 18,94,900 units across segments, a 28.7 percent year-on-year increase. Exports also rose substantially, with 4,08,422 units shipped, marking a 36.17 percent year-on-year increase. These figures reflect a strong demand for automation and a significant potential for increased robotics adoption.
With this new funding, DiFACTO aims to leverage the growth opportunities in the Indian market, enhancing its capabilities and expanding its reach in the robotic automation sector.
