Dezy Bags $6M to Boost Its Dental Care Network Expansion

Dezy, a dental care firm, formerly known as Smiles.ai has bagged an additional $6 million (nearly ₹50 crores) from Chiratae Ventures and Alpha Wave, with Peak XV’s Surge joining the capital round. It intends to use the additional funds to build out its network of clinics in places like Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Previously, with the participation of Peak XV Partners, Chiratae Ventures, MBX Capital, and Wami Capital, the dental care firm raised $23 million (₹171 crore) in a Series A funding round in 2022. The deal was led by Alpha Wave Incubation.

The Hitesh Kakrani and Jatin Kakrani-led Dezy provide dental care products and services to their clients through its in-house developed technology platform and healthcare professional onboarding. The 2019 startup provides dental walk-ins, internet consultations, and dentist at-home choices easier for patients.

The business currently operates over 22 offline clinics across seven cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, and Hyderabad. In the 2022-23 financial year, the business earned ₹28.62 crore in revenue but spent ₹65.19 crore, leading to a loss of ₹36.51 crore.
