Clix Capital, a non-banking financial company (NBFC) based in Delhi NCR, has raised ₹220 crore in a recent funding round. The investment was led by existing investors Apollo Global Management and former GE India executives Pramod Bhasin and Anil Chawla.
The new capital will be used to enhance Clix Capital’s lending capabilities in the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) sector, as well as in education and healthcare equipment financing. The funds will also support advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies. Clix Capital stated that this funding reaffirms investor confidence in its strategic MSME lending model.
Founded in 2016 by Pramod Bhasin and Anil Chawla, Clix Capital provides a range of financial products including business loans, loans against property, and school financing. The company offers SME/MSE loans, working capital loans, and unsecured business loans among other financial solutions.
Earlier this year, Clix Capital obtained $6 million in debt funding from DCB Bank. CEO Rakesh Kaul highlighted that the latest round of funding aligns with the government’s focus on supporting the MSME sector. The Union Budget 2024-25 introduced measures such as a credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs, aimed at facilitating term loans for machinery and equipment purchases without collateral.
Clix Capital’s assets under management (AUM) currently exceed ₹6,000 crore, with a gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio of less than 2%. The company has achieved total lifetime disbursements of over ₹26,000 crore. It operates across more than 2,100 pin codes in India and employs over 1,000 staff members.
In the financial year 2022-23 (FY23), Clix Capital reported a standalone revenue of ₹679 crore and a profit of ₹24.4 crore, compared to a revenue of ₹637.5 crore and a loss of ₹93.3 crore in FY22.
