Zomato Launches Restaurant Services Hub for Comprehensive Support to Restaurants

Zomato, the leading food delivery platform, has unveiled its Restaurant Services Hub, aimed at offering a wide array of essential services to restaurant partners across India. This new platform provides critical offerings such as staff hiring and regulatory compliance services including GST registration and FSSAI compliance through a network of vendors.

Having piloted the initiative for six months, Zomato reports that over 3,200 restaurants have already utilized these services, prompting its full-scale rollout nationwide. The Restaurant Services Hub represents Zomato’s commitment to creating a holistic solution for restaurant owners, facilitating setup and expansion efforts with enhanced industry collaboration.

Rakesh Ranjan, CEO of Food Delivery at Zomato, emphasized, “The launch of the Restaurant Services Hub is a significant step towards building a resilient and inclusive ecosystem. By strengthening partnerships and enabling industry collaboration, we aim to support restaurants in scaling their operations effectively.”

In FY24, Zomato boasted 247,000 active food delivery restaurant partners, underscoring its substantial footprint in the sector.

The platform currently offers hiring services where restaurants can access candidate profiles from listed vendors, streamlining their recruitment processes. Moreover, it facilitates regulatory compliance with services like FSSAI and GST registration, alongside trademark registration.

Future plans for the Restaurant Services Hub include the introduction of additional services such as point-of-sale (PoS) integrations and hygiene audits. These expansions aim to further support restaurant partners in planning, launching, and managing their businesses efficiently.

Zomato’s initiative follows a recent move by rival Swiggy, highlighting a competitive push towards enhancing support systems for restaurant partners amidst ongoing market dynamics.

In his FY24 shareholders’ letter, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal expressed optimism about sustaining growth above industry norms, driven by continuous innovation and customer-centric strategies.

Financially, Zomato reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 175 crore for the quarter ended March 31, marking a significant turnaround from the Rs 188 crore loss reported in the same period last year. Operating revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 3,562 crore, reflecting robust growth compared to the previous fiscal year.
