Titan Capital, a seed stage-focused venture capital firm, has closed its Titan Capital Winners Fund, a new opportunities fund, for ₹333 crore, or roughly $40 million. It intends to use high-signal data to make well-informed investment decisions. Later on, this capital will be put in the company’s current portfolio companies.
Supporting tech-enabled companies run by “stellar founders and management teams building category creators” is the primary goal of the Category-II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF).
According to a statement from the business, Bahl and Bansal will serve as the fund’s principal backers and will keep helping founders develop their businesses.
Kunal Bahl stated, “Through this fund, we will back about 20 tech-enabled businesses with an average cheque size of ₹15 crore. This further strengthens our existing partnership with the founders and gives a strong positive signal to new investors in their company.”
In addition to stating that the Fund is currently evaluating numerous other deals at various stages, the investment firm has already invested in three startups through the fund: eco-friendly D2C home needs brand Beco, SaaS startup Simplismart, and Bengaluru-based Convin.
Titan Capital, founded in 2015 by Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, has backed well-known brands like Mamaearth, Ola, Razorpay, Urban Company, Shadowfax, OfBusiness, Credgenics, Giva, and Invideo. The business claims that it has supported over 250 startups in the US and India, spanning industries such as fintech, consumer internet, AI, SaaS, and logistics.
As of FY23, 186 Indian startups among them, OfBusiness, Zerodha, and Mamaearth had been named Indicorns by the venture capital firm.
