The “Roadster” electric bike, introduced by EV manufacturer Ola Electric in August last year, is already in production.
“We would like to inform you that the company has started the assembly line of its upcoming bike today i.e. January 20, 2025,” the company said in an exchange filing.
More than 5 months have passed since the listed company launched “The Roadster Series” at its annual event on Independence Day last year.
Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder and CEO of Ola Electric, uploaded a video of himself riding the new electric bike at the company’s facility on X a day later on Tuesday, January 21. Aggarwal and a pillion rider were seen speeding through the company’s plant’s hallways in the footage.
Three new bikes under the Roadster X, Roadster, and Roadster Pro series were unveiled by the firm at that time, with prices starting at ₹74,999.
During the launch of its e-bike range, Ola Electric announced that it would start shipping the Roadster X and Roadster in Q4 of FY25. This comes as the EV major has spent the last few months attempting to put out fires on several fronts. The Central Consumer Protection Authority is now investigating Ola Electric for alleged service and delivery delays, sales of defective vehicles, and other customer concerns.
