Bengaluru-based Datatribe has launched a suite of affordable SaaS products designed to help organizations harness their data effectively. Founded by Nikhil Chandra, Datatribe’s offerings include myLearn, an organizational learning platform, and Parsel, a product cycle management platform.
A performance management product is also set for release later this fiscal year. These products, categorized as Tier-II ERP solutions, are touted for their ease of deployment and real-time tracking and analytics capabilities.
In an interview, Nikhil Chandra, CEO of Datatribe, discussed the company’s origins, business model, and plans. He explained that the idea for Datatribe stemmed from their experience with bringing myLearn and Parsel to market.
They identified a significant challenge for organizations across various sectors: the inability to harness and utilize the vast amounts of data generated daily. This includes people-based data, product data, and performance data, which necessitates data-focused technology products.
Datatribe’s revenue model is based on subscription charges, either as a one-time fee or a recurring subscription, depending on the product. For instance, myLearn charges clients on a per enrollment/subscription basis, offering clear proving options on the platform.
Chandra highlighted a major industry challenge: the lack of accessible systems to manage data efficiently. Current large-scale ERPs are expensive and cumbersome to deploy. Datatribe addresses this by providing SMEs and enterprises with affordable, SaaS-based data-driven products.
Datatribe’s products leverage AI and ML tools to enhance functionality. In Parsel, an AI/ML fulfillment tool optimizes putaway, pick list generation, and manpower usage in warehouses. myLearn features a unique dashboard that allows organizations to manage their learning requirements and track real-time data across SBUs, designations, and teams.
Since its inception, Datatribe has successfully taken its products out of the proof-of-concept stage. During this phase, myLearn facilitated learning outcomes for over 20,000 employees at companies including Hindalco Limited and the Tata Group. Parsel currently handles between 400,000 to 500,000 monthly SKUs.
Looking ahead, Datatribe aims to build a pipeline of recurring revenue across its product portfolio. The company targets profitable monthly recurring revenue (MRR) and aims to manage over 4 million monthly SKUs on Parsel by the second half of FY25. Long-term, Datatribe seeks to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of SMEs and enterprises through effective data utilization, while scaling a profitable global business.
Datatribe faces competition from both local and global players. For myLearn, primary competitors include Coursera and Udemy, which offer organizational learning solutions in different formats.
With its innovative approach and commitment to making data-driven technology accessible, Datatribe is poised to make a significant impact in the industry.
