Apple is set to establish its fourth iPhone assembly plant in India, with Tata Electronics leading the construction. The new plant, located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, is expected to commence production by November 2024.
This marks Tata Electronics‘ second iPhone manufacturing facility after acquiring Wistron’s unit, a process that took nearly two years.
The upcoming plant spans 250 acres and already hosts a components manufacturing facility. According to sources, preparations are underway to ensure the timely launch of iPhones from this site.
The acquisition of Wistron’s unit underscores Tata’s strategic commitment to Apple’s supply chain and its efforts to strengthen India’s position as a key player in global electronics manufacturing.
The factory’s launch is anticipated to further enhance Apple’s local production capacity, aligning with the company’s broader goals of expanding its manufacturing base outside China.
