Pakistan Defence Minister Inaugurates Fake ‘Pizza Hut’ in Sialkot, The Company’s Response Will Shock You!

Pakistan defence minister inaugurated a Sialkot Pizza Hut outlet later disowned by the brand as unauthorised.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday inaugurated what was presented as a new Pizza Hut outlet in Sialkot, an event that later drew attention after the brand distanced itself from the restaurant. Soon after the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Pizza Hut Pakistan issued a clarification stating that the outlet was unauthorised and had no affiliation with the company.

In a formal statement, Pizza Hut Pakistan said, “Pizza Hut Pakistan informs our valued customers that an unauthorised outlet falsely using the Pizza Hut name and branding has recently opened in Sialkot Cantonment.” The company added that the restaurant had no legal or operational connection with either Pizza Hut Pakistan or its parent firm, Yum! Brands, and did not follow international quality, safety or operational standards.

The outlet, located in Sialkot Cantonment, displayed branding similar to the global chain, which initially gave the impression of an official franchise. However, the location was not listed among the company’s authorised stores. Pizza Hut Pakistan said it currently operates 16 approved outlets nationwide and has filed a trademark complaint with relevant authorities.

Images from the inauguration circulated widely on social media, prompting online scrutiny and discussion, including references to Asif’s affiliation with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and raising questions about verification processes for high-profile public events.
