Huddle Ventures Initiates Green Shoe Option for Fund II

Gurugram-based early-stage venture capital firm Huddle Ventures has activated the green shoe option for its Fund II, initially set at Rs 100 crore, aiming to finalize the fund at Rs 150 crore within the next two months.

Ishaan Khosla, General Partner at Huddle Ventures, confirmed the oversubscription of the initial target, stating, “Our initial target was oversubscribed, and we have activated the green shoe option. The fund is likely to close at a corpus of Rs 150 crore.”

The rupee-denominated fund, focused on pre-seed and seed-stage startups, has secured commitments from domestic family offices and both traditional and new-age operators within the ecosystem.

Fund II has already deployed capital into six companies, while Huddle Ventures’ earlier Fund I, valued at Rs 50 crore, has invested in 25 startups, bringing the firm’s total assets under management to $20 million.

Huddle Ventures adopts a sector-agnostic approach, backing startups across fintech, agriculture, healthcare, consumer brands, and enabling technologies. The firm typically invests between $500,000 and $1 million per company, supporting ventures like oral care brand Perfora, Celsius Logistics in supply chain solutions, and wellness food brand Wellversed Health.

Sanil Sachar, General Partner at Huddle Ventures, highlighted, “We are looking to be the first institutional investor in these companies and will lead or co-lead these rounds,” emphasizing Fund II’s strategy to fund up to 20 startups with follow-on investment opportunities extending up to the Series A round.

Established in 2017 by Khosla and Sachar as both an accelerator and venture capital fund, Huddle Ventures engages closely with its portfolio companies, providing strategic support in business development.

Khosla noted, “We have already clocked three partial exits from Fund I within 36 months,” highlighting the firm’s proactive investment strategy. He added that nearly 65% of the fund’s portfolio companies have successfully secured follow-on rounds, underscoring Huddle Ventures’ role in nurturing growth and sustainability among its investee startups.
