Grip, a leading investment platform, announced a strategic expansion into fund management and portfolio management distribution services. This move introduces two new business lines: SEBI-regulated Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) and Portfolio Management Services (PMS), complementing its existing online investment platform, Grip Invest.
As part of this strategic growth, Vaibhav Laddha has been promoted to CEO of Grip Invest. Laddha, formerly the Chief Business Officer, has played a crucial role in driving growth initiatives, forging strategic partnerships, and enhancing investor experiences over the past two years.
Nikhil Aggarwal, the founder of Grip, will assume the role of Group CEO, overseeing the expanded business lines and working closely with Laddha. Aggarwal will also continue to co-lead Electrifi Mobility, a comprehensive EV lifecycle management platform co-promoted by Grip.
Nikhil Aggarwal stated, “The fund management business is a horizontal expansion leveraging the incredible suite of investment options, especially SDIs, that we have brought to market. Vaibhav has been integral to Grip since its inception and shares a deep strategic alignment with our vision.”
Vaibhav Laddha expressed enthusiasm for his new role, saying, “I am excited to lead Grip Invest into its next phase of exponential growth. Our investment products, especially the SDIs, along with continuous innovation, have made us a distinguished high-yield investment platform. We’ve experienced 15% month-on-month growth over the last six months and are on track to double our business by the end of this financial year.”
Grip Invest has empowered 26,000 investors to make over ₹1,000 crore in investments through high-yield fixed-income products like corporate bonds and SDIs. In May 2024 alone, Grip Invest facilitated 12% of pan-India retail investments in this category, and 80% of all investments in SDIs.
The new AIF and PMS offerings will provide investors with additional flexibility, allowing them to choose between active direct investments or a passive fund management strategy. This expansion aims to cater to a broader investor base, enhancing Grip Invest’s market position.
Grip’s strategic expansion into fund management and portfolio management distribution services, coupled with Vaibhav Laddha’s appointment as CEO of the investment platform, marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory. The firm remains committed to diversifying its offerings and providing innovative, high-yield investment solutions to its growing investor community, thereby democratizing investment opportunities in India.
