Flipkart Appoints Ramesh Gururaja as SVP of Consumer Product

Flipkart has appointed Ramesh Gururaja as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Consumer Product, according to a source close to the development. Gururaja will assume a portion of the responsibilities previously managed by Anand Lakshminarayan and Bharath Ram, with plans for further hiring to distribute the remaining roles.

Gururaja will report directly to Jeyandran Venugopal, Flipkart’s Chief Product and Technology Officer. His appointment is effective immediately. Prior to joining Flipkart, Gururaja served as Chief Product Officer and Head of Shared Consumer Platform at Tokopedia, where he contributed for nearly five years. His career also includes significant tenures at Microsoft and Amazon, which have shaped his expertise in consumer technology.

The expansion of leadership within Flipkart comes shortly after the company broadened Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha’s role to include oversight of Flipkart Fashion. Despite the leadership consolidation, Flipkart Fashion and Myntra will continue to operate as distinct divisions, maintaining their existing structures under Sinha’s leadership.

Nandita Sinha, who joined Flipkart in January 2016 as a Senior Director after a career in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) with Britannia and Unilever, was promoted multiple times within the Flipkart Group before taking on the CEO role at Myntra in January 2022.

The appointment of Gururaja and the expansion of Sinha’s role reflect Flipkart’s strategic focus on strengthening its leadership team to drive innovation and growth across its consumer and fashion product segments.
