Actor Shilpa Shinde has made a surprising disclosure about the controversy that surrounded her exit from the television sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! Nearly a decade ago. Speaking on a recent podcast, the actor said the sexual harassment allegation she had levelled against producer Sanjay Kohli during the dispute was false and was made when she felt she had exhausted all other options in her legal and professional battle.
Reflecting on the episode, Shinde said the matter was eventually settled, and her pending payments were cleared. “Today, through this platform, I want to say that it was false. I am confessing this for the first time,” she stated, adding that the allegation had weighed on her for years.
The actor explained that she felt cornered during the dispute and believed filing a serious complaint was the only way to have her concerns formally addressed. She also expressed sympathy for Kohli, saying, “Poor man, he ended up getting defamed because of it.”
Shinde further revealed that relations between her and the show’s makers have since improved. She later returned to work with the franchise and described the team as “very good people.” The revelation has reignited discussion around one of Indian television’s most widely publicised industry disputes.
