Cloudphysician, an AI-driven healthcare startup, has announced the appointment of Mandar Vaidya as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for India, effective June. Vaidya, previously the regional CEO at OYO, where he led operations across Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Japan, brings extensive leadership experience to his new role. Additionally, Vaidya serves as an independent director on the board of Cipla, a major drugmaker.
This leadership change follows Cloudphysician’s recent $10.5 million Series A funding round, led by Peak XV Partners with participation from Elevar Equity and venture debt firm Panthera Peak.
Founded by Dhruv Joshi and Dileep Raman, Cloudphysician operates as a full-stack AI and operations company partnering with hospitals to manage ICU and emergency department patients. The company leverages integrated technology, treatment protocols, and medical teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Currently, Cloudphysician collaborates with over 200 hospitals across 23 states in India, providing care for over 100,000 patients. The company has ambitious plans to extend its tech-driven solutions to more than 5,000 hospitals nationwide.
Financially, Cloudphysician reported an operating revenue of Rs 13 crore for the fiscal year ending March 2023, a significant increase from Rs 8 crore in FY22. However, the company also saw its losses rise to Rs 22 crore, up from Rs 17.83 crore in the previous fiscal year.
With Vaidya’s appointment, Cloudphysician aims to accelerate its growth trajectory and further its mission of improving healthcare delivery through innovative AI solutions.
