BrowserStack, a leading SaaS unicorn, has acquired Berlin-based Bird Eats Bug, an advanced bug-reporting tool, as part of its strategy to enhance its testing ecosystem. This acquisition will enable the integration of Bird Eats Bug’s unique features into BrowserStack’s platform, culminating in the launch of Bug Capture, a new tool for manual testing.
Founded in 2020, Bird Eats Bug is a SaaS tool designed to help non-technical users generate detailed bug reports, saving companies valuable engineering time. “This acquisition marks a significant step towards our goal of providing developer and QA teams with a unified, seamless testing experience,” said Ritesh Arora, CEO and co-founder of BrowserStack. He emphasized that the integration of Bug Capture’s innovative bug reporting capabilities will streamline workflows and enhance productivity by allowing development teams to focus more on product building and less on testing management.
With headquarters in San Francisco and Mumbai, BrowserStack has expanded its product offerings to over 15, with 10 of these launched in the last 18 months. The acquisition of Bird Eats Bug aims to fill gaps in bug reporting and streamline fragmented testing toolchains. The Bug Capture tool claims to improve issue resolution speed by 30% on average, featuring real-time replays, screen recording, and auto-captured technical logs—including console and network data, and system information—all consolidated into a single report.
“We’re truly excited about our joint future with BrowserStack. It’s hard to think of two products that would be a better fit,” said Dan Makarov, Co-founder and CEO of Bird Eats Bug. This acquisition marks BrowserStack’s fifth since 2020 when it acquired Percy, a visual testing platform.
BrowserStack, founded in 2011 by Ritesh Arora and Nakul Aggarwal, is a cloud-based platform that allows developers to test their websites and mobile apps across different devices, operating systems, and browsers.
