- Over 200 brands onboard, more to follow after regulatory approvals.
- Zomato plans to raise $1 billion through QIP to fuel Blinkit’s expansion.
Quick-commerce platform Blinkit, a subsidiary of Zomato, has launched the Blinkit Sellers Hub, allowing brands to sell directly to consumers, bypassing intermediaries. With over 200 brands already onboard, Blinkit is positioning itself as a formidable competitor to established e-commerce players like Amazon and Flipkart.
Sajal Gupta, Blinkit’s CTO, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), indicating that more brands will gain access to the platform after regulatory verifications. This initiative comes alongside Zomato’s plans to raise $1 billion through a qualified institutional placement (QIP) to support Blinkit’s rapid growth. The platform has more than doubled year-on-year and recently expanded its infrastructure with 152 new dark stores and seven warehouses.
Blinkit’s entry into direct brand sales reflects a strategic push to dominate the growing quick-commerce market, leveraging its expanded logistics network and Zomato’s aggressive growth strategy.
