About 1.1 lahks seasonal “job opportunities” have been established by Amazon India, ahead of the holiday season. The e-commerce firm claimed that positions have been created in various cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Chennai, in a statement released on Thursday, September 12.
Abhinav Singh, vice-president at Amazon India states, “We are committed to providing customers across every serviceable pin-code in India with fast and reliable deliveries this festive season. To meet this goal, we have hired over 1.1 Lakh additional people to strengthen our fulfillment and logistics network and ensure we can handle the increased demand seamlessly.”
“Amazon’s resolve to offer over 1 Lakh seasonal employment opportunities across India is a laudable step towards reinforcing the nation’s workforce during the festive period,” union labor minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in response to the development.
Amazon India has solidified its position in the e-commerce landscape by boasting an impressive 43 million cubic feet of storage space, which enables it to efficiently manage a vast and diverse inventory of products. This substantial storage capacity is complemented by a robust network of fulfillment centers, strategically located across 15 states in India. These centers play a crucial role in streamlining logistics and ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers, which is essential for maintaining a competitive advantage in the fast-paced e-commerce sector.
