The Serene Productions managed by Adar Poonawalla announced that it has signed a legally binding contract to invest ₹1,000 crore in India’s top production company, Dharma Productions, and Dharmatic Entertainment, owned by Karan Johar.
Poonawalla’s investment, valuing Dharma at ₹2,000 crore, is focused on expanding large-scale, multi-lingual productions, building franchises, and elevating traditional entertainment formats.
Johar will own the remaining 50% of Dharma after this investment gives Serene Productions a 50% ownership position. As the Executive Chairman, he will lead the company’s creative vision, and as the Chief Executive Officer, Apoorva Mehta will collaborate with Karan to drive the organization’s strategic direction and operational excellence.
