General insurance startup Acko has acquired digital chronic care management company OneCare in an undisclosed all-cash deal.
General Atlantic-backed insurtech company has shared in a press release that the move is part of its plan to become a comprehensive healthcare service provider not limited to just insurance. Acko plans to build a healthcare ecosystem that covers all aspects of a customer’s health insurance requirements ranging from protection to prevention, along with care and recovery needs.
OneCare has raised $1 million in seed funds led by Better Capital and QED Innovation Labs. It has developed a unique omnichannel care model that combines advanced wearables, and data-driven insights and offers access to over 100 physical clinics and virtual care teams.
Co-founders of OneCare- Rakesh Shivran and Sagar Bhat will be bringing their experience in establishing and operating large-scale health-tech services by joining the leadership team of Acko.
Earlier in March 2023, Acko entered the retail health market, further acquiring Parentlane-a digital platform focused on mother and child health.
Having one of the largest market shares in insurance products like mobility and gadget insurance, Zomato, Oyo, Urban Company, redBus, and HDB Financial Services are some of the leading businesses the insurtech platform has collaborated with. The company claims to have issued over 1 billion insurance policies, and catered to over 78 million customers.
