Sachin Tendulkar has joined the health-tech firm Sugar.fit as its strategic investor and brand ambassador.

Founded by Madan Somasundaram and Shivtosh Kumar in 2021, healthcare startup Sugar.fit provides data-driven, evidence-based, and scientifically supported solutions to help people take better care of their health and use fewer prescription drugs.

The firm focuses on treating Type 2 and pre-diabetes. To give diabetics comprehensive care, the firm has created an innovative digital health experience. Under the direction of more than 300 trainers and more than 100 doctors, the startup boasts that its online platform has over 51,000 paying customers. Additionally, it claims that 90% of its users report lower blood sugar levels, and many report using fewer diabetes drugs as a result.

To strengthen its all-encompassing strategy for managing diabetes and sugar. fit has launched a variety of health goods. These consist of diabetes protein powder, sugar-control juice, sugar-control vinegar, sugar-control atta (flour), and sugar-control rice.

In FY23, Sugar.fit’s revenue increased 5.7X, while expenses rose 2.8 times to ₹47.7 crore. Losses for the period amounted to ₹30.8 crore, a 2.2X increase from FY22. The firm maintained a cash balance of ₹9.8 crore for FY23 and has raised over ₹164 crore through two funding rounds. Its post-money valuation stands at around ₹500 crore ($60 million).
