The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a decisive victory in the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat elections, securing an overwhelming majority across both Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs) and Gram Panchayat Members (GPMs), according to results shared by party leaders.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the outcome, stating that the people of Arunachal Pradesh had shown “unwavering support for the politics of good governance.” In a post on X, he thanked voters for backing the BJP and said the mandate strengthened the party’s resolve to work for the state’s transformation. He also appreciated BJP karyakartas for their grassroots efforts.
As per the officially shared figures, the BJP won 170 of the 245 ZPM seats, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) collectively secured 238 seats. In the GPM category, the BJP won 6,085 of the 8,161 seats, with the NDA tally reaching 7,944 seats.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed gratitude to the electorate for their “overwhelming support and faith” in the BJP. Thanking party workers at every level, he said their sustained efforts and commitment had made the result possible. Khandu added that the government would continue working with renewed resolve for a stronger, prosperous and self-reliant Arunachal Pradesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
