The IT giant Apple has launched the Apple Store app in India to increase its retail footprint in the second-largest smartphone market in the world. This move comes amid growing sales of its flagship iPhone devices in the nation.

In a statement released on Friday, January 16, the iPhone manufacturer stated that users can download the app from the App Store, buy Apple products directly, and receive personalized shopping recommendations.

The Apple Store app offers product-specific tabs, personalized buying suggestions, and post-purchase assistance including online personal setup meetings with Apple experts. Additionally, the program enables customers to upgrade their Mac computers with additional storage, memory, or a more powerful chip. Apple product delivery and pickup are also available.

Apple’s head of Retail Online, Karen Rasmussen stated, “At Apple, our customer is at the centre of everything we do, and we are thrilled to introduce the Apple Store app to reach even more users in India, further deepening our connections.”

Apple is trying to increase its presence in India at the moment of the move. In 2023, the iPhone manufacturer opened its first physical locations in Mumbai and Delhi. The digital behemoth plans to create four more physical locations in the near future in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai.

According to reports, the company’s sales in the nation reached a record-breaking $8 billion in the fiscal year 2023–2024 (FY24).
