HealthKart Nets $153M, Launches ESOP Buyback

HealthKart, an omnichannel nutrition platform has raised $153 million, with ChrysCapital and Motilal Oswal Alternates leading the round. Neo Group and current investor A91 Partners also took part in the fresh round.

HKVitals, Gritzo, and MuscleBlaze are just a few of the nutrition companies that HealthKart owns and runs, also the company operates in 200 retail stores covering 90 cities in addition to its web presence.

In 2015, the firm separated its generic medication search division, HealthKartPlus, and rebranded it as 1mg, while presently it is run by Tata 1mg Technologies Private Limited.

The business has also launched its’s first-ever employee ESOP buyback scheme, which is valued at Rs 55 crore ($6.5 million).

Temasek-led HealthKart has raised $135 million in December 2022, with A91 Partners and Kae Capital joining in. The Gurugram-based company has raised almost $360 million so far.

According to the company’s press release, it achieved full-year EBITDA profitability in FY24 and surpassed the 1,000 crore sales milestone. Even though the company hasn’t formally submitted the audited accounts yet, it made ₹832 crore in FY23 and lost ₹76 crore.
